Every now and then, I come across something which is so simple and yet so powerful and effective in changing the world.
A friend recently connected me with Avaaz, an online campaign group.
“Avaaz” literally means “voice” or “song” in several Asian languages and the online campaign group is a community of global citizens who take action on the major issues facing the world today.
Images speak louder than and here is a powerful and thought provoking video clip from them:-
Once again, we are left to ponder why we are even fighting each other.
At the end of the day we all have the same hopes and dreams. The same challenges and issues.
Indeed we share the same planet, breath the same air and drink the same water.
People are people the world over. Somehow we just need to learn to get on with each other.
Are we really that different?
Hey Arvind, that’s the first time I’ve seen that, definitely thought provoking and so true!
Hi Arvind
I completely agree with you! The medias tend to always focus on differences when in fact there are many more similarities among people and their daily life, hope, fears, dreams and ambitions.
I made a documentary about that (Welcome mr. Postman) about 4 postmen and their families from four continents that visit each other and take part in each others daily life. It has been shown at 25 festivals but has only been sold to two tv-stations.
I don´t understand why people always want to look at the differences?
If we started looking first for what we have in common (in fact we usually do that when we travel and want to communicate) our whole perception of the other would change very much.
Just my opinion.
All the best
