Life always offers us lessons and sometimes in the harshest way possible. As we grow older, we are all likely to lose our friends, parents, family members. The passing of our loved ones and indeed our own passing one day one of the only guarantees that we have in this life.
Possibly the only other guarantee we have in life is that we will never get done all we want to do. We all continue to fill up our time and our lives with activities and objects that will ultimately not save us from the final passing.
However, turn this realisation around and you will appreciate that we only have this one precious life right now and it is up to us to make the most of each moment in the way that best suits us.
What would it be like to live a life of meaning and one filled with love?
Earlier this week I was privileged to attend the funeral ceremony of a dear friend Martin Boothe who left us at a tender young age but who lived a full and fulfilling life of contribution. I use the word “ceremony” deliberately as despite the deep sadness and grief, his family and friends created a memorable day of remembering his life, work and message. Martin lived for dance and music and he was easily the best and most talented dancer I have ever seen.
True to his style, Martin left us with some touching and deeply meaningful words, invoking us all to walk gently through the world and to know it’s beauty all the days of our life. It is indeed up to us all to live each of our days gently and in appreciation of the beauty all around us.
You Fill Up My Senses
(By John Denver)
You fill up my senses
like a night in the forest
like the mountains in springtime,
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert,
like a sleepy blue ocean
you fill up my senses,
come fill me again.
Come let me love you,
let me give my life to you
let me drown in your laughter,
let me die in your arms
let me lay down beside you
let me always be with you
come let me love you
come love me again.
You fill up my senses
like a night in the forest
like the mountains in springtime,
like a walk in the rain
like a storm in the desert,
like a sleepy blue ocean
you fill up my senses,
come fill me again.

Apache Blessing
May the sun bring you new energy by day
May the moon softly restore you by night
May the rain wash away your worries
May the breeze blow new strength into your being
May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.

Remember to make the most of each day and to live a life of love and contribution.
Dear Martin and Family, WOW-Even though I never knew you on the earth plane, Martin I am drawn to leave a message here for you especially as two of my friends draw my attention to you and the life you have lived.
What a GREAT MAN you must have been that a person who never knew you on the earth plane unfortunately is inspired to leave you a message. I know wherever you are and I know you are around you will read this message.
I love your poems. They moved and touched my heart:) Thanks to your friend Arvind Devalia to posting these here so I could be honoured enough to read them.
You are leaving your legacy behind and you never will be forgotten. Even though I never knew you I can sense you touched and changed so many people s lives. Thanks for having been here. I hope I get to know you on the other side as a new not yet met friend. May you be as joyful wherever you are right now as you were when you were here.
Best wishes from Ivanka Bajri
