The world has been amazed with the courage shown by the monks in Burma over the last few days. They have risked their lives and limbs to protest against the military dictators and sadly many have made the ultimate sacrifice.
During the march in London today to support the Burmese people, I came across a number of Burmese and other monks. There were also a few buddhist nuns too.
I was struck by just how tranquil and peaceful they all looked – I wondered how anyone could possibly want to harm anyone of such presence and good naturedness. And yet that is exactly what has happened in Burma.
We must remember that these monks are people just like me and you. If you have any doubts, just look at the picture below 🙂

Seeing their brighty coloured robes, often makes you forget they are indeed just like you and me.
