I recently wrote about how with the arrival of spring it was time to find THE one.
Last Saturday, I attended the wedding of one of my best friends in a central London hotel. It was my first ever major muslim wedding and also one of the best weddings I have been to.
Amazing how 12 hours just went by in a delightful cocktail of food, music, dancing and conversations with new people.
What was also striking was how cosmopolitan the wedding was with so many different nationalities and also national costumes on view. Friends had flown in from many countries.
It really does show once again what a small world it is nowadays and how our cultures and heritage are all intertwined.
It seems that nothing brings people together better than two people in love formally declaring their union in marriage.
The hotel was also hosting the wedding of another couple and I came across their order of service, which contained some words about love which summed up the day for me and probably the other guests too:-
“Love is the magician that pulls man out of his own hat” – Ben Hecht
“Love and magic have a great deal in common. They enrich the soul, delight the heart. And both take practice.” – Anon.
On that note, I am off to create some more magic 🙂
Good luck with creating some magic, Arvind. There’s lots of it in the air! Look forward to hearing about it.
