It’s Christmas Day and what better way to spend some of the time today than to watch one of the best movies ever made.
If you can spare two hours today, then watch It’s a Wonderful Life!
(Spoiler alert! At one time Google used to offer the entire movie on Google Movies. But from December 2009, they have removed it. So instead please enjoy watching the last 9 minutes of this amazing movie on Youtube)
Reckoned by many people to be one of the greatest movies ever made, though released in 1946, it still captures the hearts of new viewers over six decades later.
This movie is also a wonderful metaphor for your power to change your life and change the world. In the film, the main character George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) spends his entire life giving up his big dreams for the good of everyone else.
One Christmas Eve he feels like a total failure and just when his spirit is about to be broken, his guardian angel, Clarence, falls to Earth, and shows him how his town, family, and friends would turn out if he had never been born.
“Remember no man is a failure who has friends” – Clarence the Angel
If you haven’t seen this movie yet (where have you been?!), it will bring tears to your eyes and remind you of how many lives YOU touch every day.
Merry Christmas – and remember that no matter what is going on for you in your life, it is a wonderful life!
And always remember just how much difference YOU make in the lives of so many people every day.
Here’s the last 9 minutes of the movie again:-
Hi Arvind,
I’ve heard so many times that this is a great movie, that I’ve wanted to watch it for several years now. But, I never had the opportunity, and never quite knew what exactly the story of the movie was. Thanks to your reminder and explanation of the story it entails, I finally ordered the DVD!! (I still prefer to watch the movie on my bigscreen tv instead of on the pc ;-))
Thanks!!
A Merry Christmas to you, and a joyful, peaceful New Year,
Ellen
