So many times we hear the phrase – live life one day at a time. The idea is that we make the most of each day, since we simply do not know what is going to happen tomorrow.
To remind me to make the most of myself and to live one day at a time, here are some inspirational words from an unknown author:-
There are two days in every week
about which we should not worry,
two days which should be kept free
from fear and apprehension. One of these days is Yesterday
with all its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders,
its aches and pains.Yesterday has passed
forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world
cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo
a single act we performed;
we cannot erase
a single word we said.
Yesterday is gone forever. The other day we should not
worry about is Tomorrow
with all its possible adversities,
its burdens, its large promise and
its poor performance;
Tomorrow is also beyond
our immediate control.Tomorrow’s sun will rise,
either in splendour or
behind a mask of clouds,
but it will rise.
Until it does,
we have no stake in Tomorrow,
for it is yet to be born.
From today onwards, live life one day at a time:-)
That is absolutely beautiful and brought tears to my eyes.
You’re not the only one. It spoke to my heart as well. The sunset (or sunrise) photo may not be the best, but it sure is soothing.
Thanks Kumi for sharing.
The picture is actually a sunset I photographed myself in Dubai a few years ago. The real thing was even more soothing 🙂
very very inspirational, touching and nice ^_^
I love the poem, but I had a question if it was possible to answer the definition of “Live Life one Day at a Time .” Briefly..
Mandi, great that you love this poem.
It simply means that you make the most of TODAY and not focus on what’s already happened in the past nor on what may or may not happen in the future.
It also means that we learn from the past and prepare for the future, but right now the only day you have to live is TODAY!
I hope this makes it clearer.
Now go and make the most of today:-)
